Our Talented Team

Pearce

Proprietor

Pearce Fleming is an accomplished and award-winning homebrewer. In addition to his homebrewing experience, Pearce has completed the Institute of Brewing & Distilling’s General Certificate in Brewing exam. Outside of brewing, Pearce has served in healthcare administration, been responsible for leading one of the largest healthcare consultancies in the country, as well as developed multiple quality, education, and wellbeing technology platforms serving patients, providers, insurers, and employers. Pearce’s family roots lie in rural South Carolina and the mountains of western North Carolina. He was often entertained in his youth by his Grandaddy’s stories of running shine from his home in the mountains to the state capital of Raleigh to help with expenses while attending North Carolina State University. His grandfather always laughed about the time he was caught and hauled in front of the school’s disciplinary board, saying, “little did the President of the University know that nine of the ten people on the board were my regular customers.” True to form, Pearce’s father’s first words when told of the plan for Commonhouse, “Well, you know you’re going to have to pay the Revenuers their due.”
Favorite Beer: While I love all of our beer, you are most likely to find me enjoying one of our hop forward offerings, especially our West Coast IPA, Looking East.
Love to Support: Pearce has a number of favorite charities, including the Charleston Trident Urban League, Tri It For Life, Park Circle Cares and many others.

A native of Connecticut, he’s called Charleston home for 7 years and when he’s not at the brewery you can find him enjoying bikes, boats, beers, and spending time with his family.
Favorite Beer: Looking East.

Brittany

Brand Manager

After working in the technology industry for many years, Brittany began her craft beer career back in 2015 when she, along with her husband and two friends, co-founded Two Blokes Brewing in Mt. Pleasant, SC. In addition to pouring thousands of pints, she designed and built out the taproom, established and implemented standards of service, managed front of house operations, events, and marketing before leaving the industry in 2018. After a few year hiatus working in real estate, she hopped back into the industry in 2020 as the Taphouse Manager for Commonhouse Aleworks, eventually moving into her current role as Brand Manager. While her day to day at the brewery generally involves shooting photos and videos, running social media, planning programming, and supporting internal teams, her passion is driving Commonhouse’s mission of expanding inclusivity, supporting the communities within their market footprint, and making beer for the common good. She loves working with all the dedicated, enthusiastic, and just plain cool people that call craft beer home.
Favorite Beer: Too many! But top 3 are Haus Gold, Witherbeer, and Encore!
Love to Support: A few of the organizations Brittany loves to support are Pet Helpers, Neighbors Together, & The Walk to End Alzheimers.

Head Brewer

Andrew is our Head Brewer and resident Aussie. He studied at the Siebel Institute and has brewed all over the country from Big Top Brewing in Pensacola, Florida to Stone Brewing out on California. When not running the brewhouse you can find him out spending time with his wife & dog!
